Pediatric Eye Exams at Illinois Eye Care Center

The American Optometrist Association (AOA) recommends first eye examination at 6 months and again before starting Kindergarten. Why?

• Children's visual system develops rapidly, and it is important to make sure they are developing properly. 

• Functional vision is critical for the motor and language development of your child.

• Healthy, well-taken care of eyes are necessary for both academic excellence and social interaction.

Pediatric examination includes measurements of visual acuity level, evaluation of ocular alignment and muscle movements, prescription, and health of the front and back of the eye.
